Course script and learning design for a course on regenerative agriculture

Sustainable agriculture is a significant issue not only in terms of climate change and biodiversity but also for the future of food production. Regenerative agriculture offers methods through which food can be produced both responsibly and profitably while ensuring food production in changing conditions. The Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) promotes regenerative agriculture and, in collaboration with researchers in the field, has published an extensive online training course on the subject for farmers.

One important group working for regenerative agriculture is companies operating at various stages of the food production chain. Therefore, BSAG decided to create a concise online course, lasting a few hours, for the employees of these companies.

Ixir joined the project after the target group's needs and the course's module-specific learning objectives were defined. Ixir's learning designer began building the course script around the planned course structure. The script included the course texts and detailed activities, such as video scripts and assignments, as well as a plan for how the course would be implemented.

The script was developed based on the content of the broader online course designed for farmers and complemented by expert interviews.

The course was launched in April 2024 and has been well received by corporate communication and marketing departments. The course is open to everyone at https://courses.bsag.fi/en/
