Online Courses in Onboarding
Tornator Oyj utilizes subcontractors for forest management and clearing operations, employing a diverse workforce from various countries. For some, this marks their first experience in forest planting or clearing tasks. Recognizing the importance of occupational safety and the quality of forestry work, Tornator places a high priority on the proper orientation and training of these subcontractors' employees.

Previously, Tornator relied on in-person training sessions and written guides for this purpose. To ensure that all subcontractors' employees have access to necessary information in their native languages, Tornator decided to complement these traditional methods with the development of online courses.

This initiative was fasilitated by Ixir. An expert from Ixir developed concise and interactive online courses, designed for easy completion on mobile devices prior to commencing forest work. The courses are structured to provide foundational knowledge: one serves as an introduction to forest planting, while the other addresses the fundamental aspects of forest clearing.

To accommodate a diverse workforce, these courses were made available in six different languages. Recognizing the geographical reach of Tornator, which includes operations in Estonia and Romania, tailored versions of the courses have been developed to suit the specific needs of the company's activities in Estonia, incorporating minor adjustments for local relevance.
